M3+, also known as Heavy Fighters, or more rarely, armed transporters, are a ship class added in X3: Reunion, in Patch 2.0. Initially restricted to a few races, it was further expanded in later games. Many of these ships were developed by the Boron shipwright Bala Gi.
The earliest M3+ seen other than the X was the Paranid Perseus, which succeeded the aging Prometheus as the main Paranid fighter.
The X-Shuttle is also retroactively considered an M3+ ship, due to its immense capabilities.
