The Boron are an aquatic alien race that reside within the X Universe. This passive race has become one of the most technically advanced races in the X Universe.
Description[]
The Queendom of Boron was contacted by Argon Federation ships searching for Xenon sectors about 450 years before the events of X: Beyond the Frontier. The Split Patriarchy had destroyed most of the Boron colonies, forcing them back to Kingdom End. The Argon helped repel an attack on the Boron home world and officially enter the war themselves. The Godrealm of the Paranid sent ships to supplement Split warships in an attack on Argon Prime. This war is known as the Boron Conflict.
The Boron Kingdom have an elected government and a royal family, lead between 742 NT and 784 NT by Queen Lar Atreus, who succeeded her late husband Rolk We, last male king of the Boron. Her daughter Lar Menelaus was her heir and succeeded her after her death. During The Dark, Menelaus died in 798 NT and was succeeded by her daughter Polypheides, who is the current Boron ruler as of 2995/825 NT. Polypheides has her own heir, her daughter Celeus. Similar to the old Japanese civilization on Earth, the Boron name the period their kings rule as Eras named after them (e.g. Atreus Era, Polypheides Era, etc...)
The Boron are allies with the Argon and the two form the Foundation Guild. The Boron are peaceful by nature but will defend themselves or fight in wars for the well being of themselves and their allies. They constantly have to repel minor attacks by Split pilots but they have developed many technologies to repel them.
Technology[]
The Boron ships are designed to function in space and in water although these scenes are only shown in X2: The Threat. Due to their peaceful nature, they specialize in defensive technologies such as speed, shields and non destructive weapons, but are lacking in offensive capabilities. Their Ion Disruptor weapon can strip the shields and wreck the components of enemy ships, while leaving their hull mostly intact, and its bigger brother the Ion Cannon can do the same to capital ships. Their lack of bloodlust does not suggest they are incapable of heavy damage or holding their own in a fight, and the Queen's subjects won't hesitate to spill blood if absolutely necessary, like with the Split. Their Capital ships are among some of the most powerful in the X Universe.
During the Dark, due to resource scarcity and in response to the gate shutdowns, the Boron had to heavily redesign their ship lineup to make them more autonomous. Four decades of divergence in complete isolation has resulted in their technology becoming incompatible with that of the other races of the former Community of Planets.
